Transportation in and around the Near Eastside

This part of the site is designed for Near Eastside Columbus residents and community organizations that need maps and information about transportation in and around the neighborhood.

Accessibility between the Near East Side and downtown Columbus: (2011)

The map seeks to illustrate how the main arteries to and from the Near Eastside would be affected by a proposed cap over I-71, much like what was done to I-670 where it separated the Short North from downtown Columbus.

The map was designed by Geography 580S students by Brian Arnold and Nathan Brown.

Sidewalk quality: (2010)

This map is a tool for people with challenged mobility. The map indicates sidewalks that can or cannot be navigated using a wheelchair. It also indicates whether a street corner has a usable handicap ramp.

The map was designed by Geography 580S students Nicholas Miller and Zack Heider.

Near East Side bus routes: (2010)

This map provide bus riders and residents in the Near East Side one concise, easy to use map with information regarding bus times and destinations outside the neighborhood.

The map was designed by Geography 580S students John Rausch, Chad Miller, and Adrian Jourdan.
