He is the founding director of the Urban Dynamics Institute at ORNL. His research interests and experience include novel implementation of geospatial science and technology in sustainable development research, including population dynamics, urbanization and watershed impacts, energy resource assessment, and disaster management.He is a principal member of the LandScan population modeling programs at ORNL. He received the 2010 Homeland Security award for emergency preparedness and response from Christopher Columbus Fellowship Foundation. In 2009, he was appointed to the Mapping Science Committee of the National Academy of Sciences/National Research Council. He has also served on the Geographic Information Science and Applications and on a Strategic Highway Research Program, Expert Task Group of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) of the National Academies.Dr. Bhaduri holds professorial appointments with the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He routinely serves on national and international expert panels and has published extensively in leading scientific journals. He is actively involved with academic institutions for scientific collaborations and student engagement for research in geospatial science. He received the2017 Caryn Merry Outstanding Mentor Award from the University Consortium of Geographic Information Science (UCGIS). Research Experience and Interests
