Hear from Geography and GIS alumni about career opportunities in the field! Great networking opportunity for current students. Sponsored by Geography Club.

TUESDAY, NOV 15

GeoGuessr Hangout  //  10:30AM—1PM

Explore the world with GeoGuessr and test your knowledge to compete for prizes! What is GeoGuessr? Try it our here!
Location: Derby Hall 1116. Food available!

 

WEDNESDAY, NOV 16

GIS Day at the Research Commons  //  10AM—4PM

Workhops, lectures, and exhibits. GIS fair w/ professionals from industry, government, and academia
Location: Third Floor, 18th Avenue Library

GeoCaching Competition  //  3:30PM-5:30PM

Teams of 3-4 compete in a scavenger hunt across campus using GPS to navigate and find clues. Meet in Derby 1080. Food will be provided after.

Social Impacts of Gaming  //  11AM

Explore processes and practices to address social impact issues through games! Food available at 11am, talk shortly after.

Healthy Places Panel // 11:45AM

Designing Cities for Bicycling and Walking
A panel on how Columbus and other cities are working to improve livability and encourage active transportation.

National Weather Service (NWS) Roadshow!  //  4PM—6PM

Come network with 8 representatives from the National Weather Service, a T.V. meteorologist, and a graduate student from Penn State University to talk about careers within atmospheric sciences. Opportunity to have dinner with many of the speakers after the event. The NWS Roadshow only happens once every three years, and it is an incredible opportunity to learn about future careers and network with professional meteorologists. Anyone thinking about a career in atmospheric sciences is strongly encouraged to attend. Sponsored by the Meterology Club.
