Desheng Liu is a coauthor on a paper about the urban heat island effect recently published in Computers, Environment and Urban Systems, featuring a 3D digital model of a section of Columbus to determine what effect the shade of the buildings and trees in the area had on land surface temperatures over the course of one hour on one summer day (read MORE).

This year's Fulbright awards and alternates are available here. Among them are Eyako Heh (BA student, Geog minor) and Fatima Dahir (BA student, Geography).

Yue Lin (PhD student) received first prize in the Student Paper Awards at the 2021 UCGIS Symposium. Her paper's title is Identifying High Accuracy Regions in Traffic Camera Images to Enhance Density Estimation.
