  1. Physical Distancing
    1. Department Classrooms, Labs, and Seminar Rooms
      1. These rooms have been spaced and measured out for the available cohorts to practice safe social distancing. Extraneous furniture will be removed and locations of available seating will be marked for students.

  1. Meetings
    1. Requested meetings of less than 10 people (graduate student committee meetings, etc.) for these rooms will be approved by the department manager and will hold to social distancing regulations and maximum room capacities (attendees will be required at time of room scheduling)
    2. All other meetings will be required to be held virtually
  2. Department shared spaces
    1. 1066 (departmental kitchen/breakroom) and 1035 (mailroom/copying) have been capped with a maximum occupancy of 2 people.
      1. Signage has been installed to alert individuals as to when the rooms are vacant or occupied
    2. Sharpe Commons main room will be closed until further notice
    3. Sharpe Commons green screen room will be by appointment only with a maximum occupancy of 1
  3. Staff
    1. Department outer office will be occupied with one individual at a time and will be open each business day during normal working hours
    2. Staff who can work remotely will continue to do so
  4. Faculty and Adjunct Faculty
    1. Faculty and Adjunct Faculty will access campus rooms during required in-person teaching times
    2. Office working time will be scheduled through the department scheduling spreadsheet with a maximum of 25% occupying offices at any given time
      1. Faculty will not be required to wear masks within their own offices
    3. Office hours will be held virtually
  5. Graduate Students
    1. Grad students will access rooms during required in-person teaching times
    2. Office working time will be scheduled through the department scheduling spreadsheet with a maximum of 25% occupying offices at any given time
      1. Graduate students will be required to wear masks while communal offices are occupied by more than one person
      2. Students’ assigned groups will be designated by desk location number of students per room
    3. Office hours will be held virtually
  1. Hygiene and Personal Protection
    1. Face masks will be required in all shared spaces within the Geography Department
    2. Face masks will be required in department owned classrooms and signage will be posted on each of the doors to alert faculty, students, and staff to the requirements.
    3. Hand sanitizer will be provided at key points around the department
    4. Hand washing signage will be posted where applicable
  2. Facilities Readiness
    1. Signage is being procured and developed to guide foot traffic flow, remind people of safety practices, and mark wait line spaces. We are also developing entrance and exit strategies for room transitions and cleaning protocols
    2. Courses have been transitioned to online, hybrid, or hyflex where appropriate to maintain appropriate numbers in cohorts and accommodate students
    3. Office use sign up sheets will not have available slots on Tuesdays to accommodate FOD deep cleaning of Department spaces.
  3. Health Reporting, Contact Tracing, and Testing. Education and Training
    1. All Faculty, graduate students, staff, and visitors have been notified that they will not be able to return to campus without completing the required training.
    2. All department members have been instructed that they will be responsible for tracking their body temperature and health status regularly using the health tracking spreadsheet until the app is operational.
