Prof. Madhumita Dutta published an op-ed in the Columbus Dispatch today concerning the health and environmental impacts of the new Intel site currently under construction in New Albany, Ohio. She calls for giving a larger voice to local populations who must not only adapt to potential health and environmental hazards but are also paying for the construction of the site directly through tax subsidies provided to Intel by the state of Ohio.

She also recently led her geography class in urban spaces and the global economy on a tour of the area surrounding the Intel site. They had a chance to engage with local residents concerned with the lack of transparency in the construction process.
