Beneath Our Feet - Geography Department Travels Under Campus
A group of faculty, graduate, and undergraduate students from the Department of Geography went on a tour of some of OSU’s energy infrastructure, led by staff with ENGIE, the energy provider for the Columbus campus. The group saw a small portion McCracken Power Plant and the East Chiller, but spent most of their time seeing the tunnels that crisscross campus and carry much of the infrastructure for heating and cooling the university. Many of these tunnels are about 100 years old, including the ones built with convict-made bricks.
