Scholarships can be an important tool to help you pay for your education. Here are a few scholarships that may be helpful for you or that have been awarded to past students in our department.

AAG Marble-Boyle Undergraduate Achievement Award

The Marble-Boyle Undergraduate Achievement Awards aims to recognize excellence in academic performance by undergraduate students from the United States and Canada who are putting forth a strong effort to bridge geographic science and computer science as well as to encourage other students to embark upon similar programs. The award consists of a cash prize of $1,000 and a certificate of recognition. Esri has also agreed to provide priority consideration to any of the awardees who may be interested in participating in their Summer Intern Program


AMS Freshman Undergraduate Scholarship

The American Meteorological Society provides a scholarship open to all high school students and designed to encourage study in the atmospheric and related sciences. Serving as a unique example of various sectors in the meteorological field joining together to support young, talented minds, the scholarships are being sponsored by partners in industry, as well as through named scholarships either established by an AMS member or in memory of someone. The sponsors of these scholarships have all recognized the importance in encouraging young people to enter into the atmospheric and related sciences and thus have made generous contributions in support of the AMS Freshman Undergraduate Scholarship Program.


AMS Scholarship for Underserved Communities

The AMS Scholarship for Underserved Communities will award funding to students who have been traditionally underrepresented in the sciences, especially Hispanic, Native American, and Black/African American students. Funding for the scholarships is provided through donations made to the AMS Annual Giving Program. The American Meteorological Society (AMS) is committed to, and benefits from the full and equitable participation of a diverse community. AMS is committed to advancing core values of diversity, inclusion, and equity across all aspects of the atmospheric, oceanic, and hydrologic sciences.


AMS Senior Named Scholarships

The American Meteorological Society (AMS) administers senior undergraduate scholarships established in memory of a loved one or to honor an individual’s contributions to the sciences. These scholarships are intended to help further the education of outstanding students who are pursuing  degrees in the atmospheric and related oceanic or hydrologic sciences. Scholarship awards will range from $2000 to $10,000.


Luce Scholars Program

The Luce Scholars Program awards 18 fellowships annually to seniors and recent graduates in any field of study to take part in 1-year of professional work experience in Northeast, Southeast, or South Asia for applicants who have little to no experience in their country of placement. Scholars are placed in unique host organizations or institutions (NGOs, government agencies, private companies, think tanks, museums etc.) based on their individualized interests and qualifications.


Morill Scholarship Program

The Morrill Scholarship Program (MSP) offers scholarships and educational enrichment opportunities to academically talented students who are actively engaged in diversity-based leadership, social justice and service. The Morrill Scholarship is awarded on a competitive basis to students admitted to the Columbus campus for the autumn semester following high school graduation. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents of the United States. MSP seeks academically talented high school seniors who will contribute to campus diversity and actively engage as advocates and champions of diversity, inclusion, social justice and academic excellence on campus.


Ohio Academy of Science Environmental Science Scholarship

Funded by the State of Ohio through the Department of Higher Education in 2021, 46 juniors and seniors from 41 high schools throughout Ohio were recognized for their contributions to STEM Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Each student received a $1,000 scholarship at attend any Ohio technical college, college, or university. The application process evaluated academic achievement, answers to essay questions, and validated their accomplishments within STEM or Entrepreneurship. 


Stamps Eminence Scholarship Program

Students awarded the Stamps Eminence Scholarship are part of a select group of undergraduate Honors students that embark on a unique, four-year journey of academic rigor, service and leadership. The program covers the full cost of attendance at Ohio State for eight semesters of full-time enrollment, plus an enrichment grant valued at up to $5,000 accessible after the first year of successful study.
