Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Congratulations to undergraduate GIS major, Ruoran Cheng, on receiving the prestigious Research Scholar Award offered by the Undergraduate Research Office at Ohio State. The citation is especially inspiring: “With these awards, you have been recognized as a person who has the potential to make a substantial contribution to whatever endeavors you select throughout your life, and I hope you accept these awards in the spirit of that high praise.”
Ruoran is advised by Dr. Daniel Sui. He will be conducting research aimed to integrate GIS with a digital biographical database constructed by researchers at Harvard to analyze historical data on Wang Anshi’s reform during the Song Dynasty in China.
