Kendra McSweeney elected as AAAS Fellow!
Kendra McSweeney has been elected as an American Association for the Advancement of Science fellow! This is one of the most prestigious honors that can be bestowed upon a U.S. scientist. Fellows are elected annually by the AAAS Council in recognition of their efforts to advance science and scientific applications.
Kendra is being recognized for her “distinguished scholarly record which is well-communicated to the public in advancing environmental social science and the study of human-environmental relationships”.
For those of you who are still getting your grounding, the AAAS is one of the world’s largest and most prestigious scientific organizations. It engages in science education and science advocacy, holds major research meetings, and of course publishes highly respected journals like Science (see https://www.aaas.org/journals).
We also congratulate the seven other Ohio State faculty members who received AAAS fellowships this year. To read more about their appointments, visit https://news.osu.edu/eight-ohio-state-scientists-named-aaas-fellows/.
