Mathew Coleman, professor in the Department of Geography, has been appointed interim chair of the department for a one-year term, effective July 1, 2022. His research examines immigration law and politics, more specifically issues related to the U.S.-Mexico border, interior immigration enforcement, critical geopolitics, political geography, states and statecraft, geographies of power and resistance.
