Geographical Analysis

Geographical Analysis, a premier peer-reviewed journal specializing in spatial analysis, geographic theory, and quantitative methods, is seeking a dynamic new editor-in-chief to lead its editorial operations and uphold its tradition of publishing top-tier, cutting-edge research.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the peer-review process, ensuring timely, high-quality feedback to authors and reviewers.
  • Collaborate with the editorial board to shape and execute the journal's strategic vision.
  • Attract and manage a steady stream of impactful, original research submissions.
  • Promote the journal to enhance its visibility, scholarly impact, and readership.
  • Uphold the highest standards of integrity and quality in all published content.

 

Qualifications

  • Recognized expertise in spatial analysis, quantitative human geography, GIS, or closely related disciplines.
  • A strong academic record of scholarly publications in these areas.
  • Prior experience in editorial roles or peer-review is highly desirable.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.

 

Founded by faculty from the Department of Geography at The Ohio State University in 1969, Geographical Analysis is published by Wiley and reaches a broad, interdisciplinary audience across geography, economics, transportation, demography, environmental science, urban planning, regional science, public health, earth science and beyond. The journal covers a wide range of topics, from quantitative spatial analysis and spatial statistics to modeling and simulation of complex geographic systems. It features original research articles, methodological papers, and state-of-the-art reviews on topics like location analysis, spatial econometrics, geoAI and the application of spatial analysis and geographic information science to advance geographic theory and solve major societal challenges. With a strong reputation for impact and citation rankings in geography-related fields, it remains a vital resource for researchers worldwide.
