Derby Hall Staged Reopening Plan

All Stages

  • Work that can be done remotely will be done remotely, and meeting will be held only online.
  • Proper social distancing shall be maintained at all times
  • All personnel will sign attestation forms, and undergo all required training prior to having access to lab facilities
  • Personnel will appropriately self-monitor, report symptoms (if applicable), and complete all reporting and self-quarantine procedures if necessary
  • Proper PPE is required at all times while inside the lab. This includes the following:
    • Face masks (Use of masks in closed-door, individual offices is encouraged)
    • Gloves
    • Regular use of hand sanitizer and/or frequent hand washing when gloves are not available
    • Six feet of distance is required at all times

Stage 1, 2, and 3

Suite 0110

  • PI and any occupants are responsible for disinfecting all areas upon entering and exiting space
  • Maximum occupancy for suite 110 is as follows:
    • 110 A – 1 person
    • 110 B – 1 person
    • 110 D – 1 person
    • 110 C – 1 person
    • 110 E – 1 person
  • Room occupancy will be tracked and logged on required log sheets.
    • PI is responsible for minimizing contact within the shared space.
    • Logs will be retained by the PI for future review and/or contact tracing if necessary
  • Suite capacity not to exceed 50% at any given time. Individuals may not occupy the same office/room within the suite

 

Stage 4

Faculty Offices

  • PI and any occupants are responsible for disinfecting all areas upon entering and exiting space (door handles, computers, desk surfaces, etc.)
  • Maximum occupancy per office is 1
  • Room occupancy will be tracked and logged on required log sheets.
    • PI is responsible for minimizing contact within the space.
    • Logs will be retained by the PI for future review and/or contact tracing if necessary

Stage 5

Graduate and shared Offices Spaces (1070, 1083, 1131, 1155, 1145, 1048)

Research Labs (160, 135, 140)

  • PI and/or any occupants are responsible for disinfecting all areas upon entering and exiting space (door handles, computers, desk surfaces, etc.)
  • Maximum occupancy per room is not to exceed 25% at any given time. Individuals may not occupy the same office/room within the suite
    • Scheduling of times for occupancy within each of these rooms will be required and approved on a weekly basis by department leadership
      • Scheduling windows will be based upon assigned seating and proximity to each other within each office
    • Maximum occupancy for each room is as follows:
      • 1048 – 3 people
      • 1070 – 4 people
      • 1083 – 2 people
      • 1131 – 4 people
      • 1145 – 3 people
      • 1155 – 4 people
      • 0160 – 4 people
      • 0135 – 15 people
      • 0140 – 15 people
  • Room occupancy will be tracked and logged on required log sheets.
    • Occupants are responsible for minimizing contact within the shared space.
    • Logs will be retained by the occupants and returned to the department office for future review and/or contact tracing if necessary
  • Suite capacity not to exceed 25% at any given time.

Sharp Innovation Commons

This space will be closed for general student use. The exception being the green screen room. This will only be available by appointment (made and scheduled through the front office).

  • Occupants/users are responsible for disinfecting all areas upon entering and exiting space (door handles, computers, desk surfaces, etc.)
  • Maximum occupancy is 1 person at any given time. Individuals may not occupy the same office/room within the room
    • Logs will be filled out by occupants online and retained for future review and/or contact tracing if necessary
    • Scheduling of times for occupancy within each of these rooms will be required and approved on a weekly basis by department leadership

Communal Spaces (1066, 1035)

The doors to these spaces will remain closed and only accessible by department personnel.

  • Occupants/users are responsible for disinfecting all areas upon entering and exiting space (door handles, computers, desk surfaces, etc.)
  • Maximum occupancy is 2 people at any given time. Individuals may not occupy the same office/room

Suite 1036 and 1049

At no time will more than one individuals occupy the outer geography department office (1036) at any time. A pre-arranged schedule of occupancy will be approved on a weekly basis by department leadership. Those with individual offices may reside in their offices. Doors will remain closed to both 1036 and 1049.

 

Traffic Flow and Sanitation

 

  • Hallways will be designated as one way and proper signage will be posted as well as directional markers on the floors
  • Directories will be posted at all entrances to correctly distribute traffic flow
  • General inquiries to the department office will be addressed through either phone or email
  • Waiting areas such as Derby Gallery or stairwells will be closed until further notice
  • Departmental spaces will be cleaned at opening, mid-day, and before closing each day.

 

*Additional rooms 1116, 1186, and 1080 will be addressed after June 15th when the teaching guidelines are announced.
