All deregulatory actions of Trump's Environmental Protection Agency have the air pollutant particle matter at their center which demonstrates both the centrality of fossil fuels and the racial dynamics of deregulation, as particulate matter contributes to racial disparities in health outcomes generally and the coronavirus. This presentation will work through aspects of policy that demonstrate these actions are not only attacks on regulation but also on regulatory knowledge and how the Trump Administration's EPA installed a racist, fossil-fueled regulatory science.
