This year during national #GEOWeek, the Department of Geography will be hosting a Geocaching Competition!
What: Geocaching - a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location.
Who: All majors are welcome. To be eligible to win the prize money, students must be currently enrolled at OSU and plan to be enrolled during SP17. Any student not enrolled SP7 is ineligible to receive the money, though they may participate.
Where: Sign-in will take place in 1080 Derby Hall from 3:30-4:00PM. Competition begins at 4PM.
Prizes: The first team to return to Derby Hall with all their clues in the correct order will win $1,000! 2nd place wins $500 and 3rd place wins $250. All participants will be provided with dinner after the event in Derby 1080.
Rules: Teams must have 3-4 members to be eligible to compete. All team members must be available for the entire two hours. No one will be able to arrive late or leave early since this is a race across campus.
