Faculty are actively using this early summer period to pursue research travel and to compete for grants for their work.
Kendra McSweeney traveled 12-20 May to Tegucigalpa the capital of Honduras.
Joel Wainwright continues to enjoy his FPL / sabbatical at the University of British Columbia.
Max Woodworth
is on travel to Tokyo and is including trips for research to other Asian cities including Kyoto, Japan and Taipei, Taiwan.
Dan Sui is making an early get-acquainted trip to his new post in DC at the National Science Foundation.
Our very own globe trotter Harvey Miller is back from his latest Euro trip.
Elisabeth Root has plans for research travel over the summer to the Philippines
I am reliably informed than many more have upcoming travel plans.

What keeps this great team together?  Skype of course! And by the way, the University will be unveiling a new phone system (Skype for Business) which will replace the 1987 antiquated voice phones soon. Advantages of this transition include not only reduced costs, but importantly, the new system will include all features such as voicemail and long distance at no additional charge, while adding full mobile capability of the phone number to any device or computer.  Progress!
