The Ohio State Buckeyes secured the 2024 College Football Playoff National Championship with a 34-23 victory over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on January 20, 2025. Although the Buckeyes concluded their regular season with an unhappy loss to a rival school, the expanded 12-team College Football Playoff format provided the Bucks an opportunity to compete for the national title. Which they did! Ohio State took full advantage of their playoff spot, outscoring their four postseason opponents 145-75, ultimately securing their championship victory over the Fighting Irish.

The Lantern, Ohio State University's student-run newspaper, published a special issue on the championship including in-depth analysis, game breakdowns, and lots of photos. Geography got in on the action to celebrate the win and offer our congratulations to the football team.
