Congratulations to Xining Yang.  Xining’s dissertation was on “Exploring the world via volunteered geographic information (VGI): Space, place, and people.”  Xining was part of the collaborative research project funded by NSF with other PIs from UCSB and UW.   Xining’s  committee consisted of Ola Ahlqvist, Ningchuan Xiao, Gerald Kosicki (grad school rep), and Daniel Sui (advisor). Xining Yang has already started his tenure-track position in the Department of Geography and Planning at California State University (Chico).
