Geographer in the White House?
Hearty congratulations to Dr. Harvey Miller, who has been appointed as co-chair of a National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine committee charged with better understanding how environmental health and geospatial data can be used in a climate and environmental justice ’screening tool’ developed by the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ). The CEQ is headquartered within the Executive Office of the President and coordinates the federal government’s public health and environment initiatives. Dr. Miller’s committee will review a variety of screening tools, locate and evaluate data sources, and provide recommendations to the CEQ.
