Congratulations to Dr. Madhumita Dutta and Jackie Beck, both of whom were celebrated at the Arts and Sciences Spring Recognition Reception yesterday afternoon.

Madhu received the 2023-2024 ASC Early Career Faculty Excellence Award in SBS, which is awarded annually by the college promotion and tenure faculty review committee. The award recognizes “outstanding performance in all three areas of research, teaching, and service of early-career faculty at the time of review for promotion and tenure”. In other words, Madhu has been rank ordered as the best tenure applicant of the year in SBS!

Jackie received the 2023-2024 Graduate Student Award for Teaching Excellence. As the name implies, the award recognizes excellence in teaching by a graduate student and is fiercely competitive! Jackie was recognized for the creative and highly competent instruction she has done for the department—including among other things leading our inaugural Sharpe experiential cohort of ASP students!
