Harvey Miller, Jordan Swaim-Fox, and Gavin Lavine were on hand at the Juneteenth Jubilee at the Ohio History Connection on June 19. They shared CURA’s new Ghost Neighborhoods project which uses 3D modeling and VR technology to reconstruct historic Black neighborhoods prior to urban highways and urban renewal, such as Mt Vernon Ave in the 1950s, Hanford Village in the 1940s, and Hanford Village in the early 1960s.

The event was very well attended, with upwards of 1,000 visitors.

CURA’s work in this area will be on display in the new Poindexter Village African American Museum, opening in 2028.
