Leadership change at Geographical Analysis

Geographical Analysis Cover

After eight remarkable years of service, Rachel Franklin—Executive Director of the Center for Geographic Analysis at Harvard—will be stepping down as editor of Geographical Analysis at the end of June. Rachel has led the journal with vision, rigor, and a deep commitment to advancing the field, helping to grow GA’s impact while maintaining a steady flow of high-quality submissions and special issues.

Rachel writes: “As much as I love GA and journal editing, I am a firm believer in editorial turnover. I have my own particular vision for what geographical analysis is and should be, and fresh eyes will help ensure we stay at the top of our game.”

We are delighted to announce that Elizabeth Delmelle, Associate Professor at the University of Pennsylvania, will be taking over as editor on July 1. Elizabeth is widely recognized for her work on neighborhood change and transportation, and brings valuable editorial experience from her time at the Journal of Transport Geography. Her inclusive perspective on the discipline makes her a natural fit for GA’s next chapter.

Please join us in thanking Rachel for her outstanding leadership and in welcoming Elizabeth to the editorial helm!
