Over Spring Break this year a group of nine Meteorology Club Students travelled to New Orleans, LA to work with St. Bernard Project rebuilding parts of the bayou affected by Hurricane Katrina 10 years ago this August.  While there, students worked on a sustainability project involving creation of recycle bins, interior and exterior priming and painting, mold remediation in Tyvex suits, and sanding and mudding walls.  All these efforts were done on houses being rebuilt after Hurricane Katrina or homes built for those displaced by survivors. 

Even now, 10 years later, there is still a dire need for resources to get families back home and renew a sense of hope for those whose lives were turned upside down.  The Meteorology Club has pledged to raise $500 by August 1^st and they need your help!

The Met Club will be serving baked goods as well as a New Orleans favorite…rice and beans next Monday, April 27^th from 9am-3pm in the East Lobby of Derby Hall!
