Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Congratulations to  Zack Paganini, aka Zachary Berry Paganini, who very ably defended his M.A. this afternoon.

Zack's thesis, titled "Underwater: Using Ethnography to Investigate Intersections of Race and Resilience in the Case of the National Flood Insurance Program in Canarsie, Brooklyn", investigates flood-related resilience planning in terms of a broader history of racialized housing inequalities in the U.S. In addition to being a compelling case study, as well as very readable, Zack's thesis critically takes on the resilience and biopolitics literatures in geography, and beyond, in ways which are theoretically adventurous.

Zack's committee consisted of Becky Mansfield, Darla Munroe,  advisor Mat Coleman and Miranda Martinez (Comp Stds). Thanks to his committee members for their work on Zack's project over the past two years.

Zack's public presentation will take place after the AAG. Details on that in a few days.
