Geography students take to the skies with the SFL Drone School

First day of Drone Class with the Sharpe Field Library

Monday Oct. 28, students from the Department of Geography participated in the first Sharpe Field Library (SFL) Drone School flight day. During this session at Tuttle Park, SFL manager Adam Tjoelker taught students the fundamentals of drone operations and walked the group through the procedures to safely launch and operate a small drone. Undergraduate students received their own drone rentals from the SFL to allow them to continue practicing their piloting skills. Students who are interested in participating in this program should contact Adam at sharpefieldlibrary@osu.edu
