Zhengyu Liu—EGU award recipient!
Dr. Zhengyu Liu has been named the 2025 recipient of the Milutin Milanković Medal! Awarded by the European Geosciences Union (EGU), this prestigious honor recognizes outstanding contributions to research on long-term climate change. Milutin Milanković (1879–1958), a Serbian mathematician, astronomer, and geophysicist—so basically, a geographer—is renowned for his theory of Milankovitch cycles, which describe how Earth's orbital and axial variations influence long-term climate patterns, including ice ages.
Liu will be officially recognized for his achievements at the 2025 EGU General Assembly in Vienna in April! Congratulations to Liu on this well-deserved recognition!
