Interests:
I am a geo-spatial data scientist and transportation geographer. My research goals are to promote sustainable and resilient mobility from a social equity perspective. Empirically, my interests are urban transport geography, primarily in public transport and micro-mobility. The core of my research questions is to mitigate and overcome car dependency in cities and to promote sustainability, accessibility, and social equity. Methodologically, I use GIScience, urban data technologies, and space-time analytics from a data-driven perspective. I use high-resolution spatial data and computational techniques to address my empirical research questions. Following this schema, my research to-date advances the understanding of public transit system and its interaction with new technologies, new transport services, and new social and public health events. I have also developed and applied multiple new methods based on high-resolution spatial data; the methods measure the performance of transit systems with higher fidelity and emphasize more on people’s lived experience in the systems.
