Research - Forest & Land Use

Forests have played a huge role in human history, not only as a resource but also as an important site of cultural meaning and a source of biodiversity. Many researchers in our department research forests as well as broader questions of land use. How do we understand spaces and places as they relate to our lives? How do we feel about so called "sacrifice zones"?  How has land cover changed over time? These are some of the important questions scholars of forests and land use ask through their research.
