Mark your calendars for an event you will not want to miss! In lieu of the recent openings within the National Weather Service, the Meteorology Club at The Ohio State University will be hosting the NWS Roadshow on Thursday, November 20th from 4-6pm in Derby 0070. Forecasters from the National Weather Service office in Wilmington along with the Meteorologists-in-Charge from the Wilmington, OH and Indianapolis, IN offices will be in attendance to discuss what the National Weather Service is, the role they serve, the perks of working for them, and how to apply for positions. In addition, WSYX/WTTE meteorologist and OSU alum Andrew Michael will be in attendance to discuss the broadcast track and their interaction with meteorologists at the National Weather Service. Admission to the event is free and will be hosted as a part of Geography Awareness Week [pdf]. Following the information session, there will be a networking dinner to meet the meteorologists from the NWS and Andrew Michael. Please plan to bring money to pay for your dinner. Attire for this event will be business casual. You are strongly encouraged to bring a copy of your resume. If you are planning to attend, please send an email to osumetclub@gmail.com indicating whether you will be at the information session, dinner, or both. This is important as we reserve tables for dinner and ensure the room reserved will provide the resources necessary for a successful event. We look forward to seeing you at the NWS Roadshow in a few weeks! Sincerely, Meteorology Club Exec Board.
