GEOWEEK 2020
In 2020, GeoWeek was held November 16-20 in an entirely virtual format! Although GeoWeek looked a bit different this year, we were able to engage our students and the campus community with a few notable highlights:
Weather Q&A with Ben Gelber and Mike Bettes
An hour question and answer session with Ben Gelber (NBC6) and Mike Bettes (Weather Channel) to talk all things weather and atmospheric science! Mike and Ben answered questions from several of our students about their experiences as meteorologists, being on live television, and stormchasing.
3C GIS Day
3C GIS Day was a collaboration between The Ohio State University, Case Western Reserve University, and the University of Cincinnati. For this virtual event, students, faculty, staff, and the broader GIS community had the opportunity to learn more about Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and to celebrate the power of geospatial analysis and visualization in answering research questions and solving real-world problems. Graduate Studies Coordinator, Rebekah Sims and Graduate Studies Chair Ningchuan Xiao were panelists during the Professional Development Sessions and spoke on the value and importance of GIS education.
